Henry County Civil Docket Searches
The official Henry TnCIS search offers Circuit Court and General Sessions Court choices. Select Civil as the Case Type, then use a full party name, filing year, or case number. Court Type is required. A correct name can still produce no result when the wrong court is selected. The portal's help says separators in case numbers are normalized, so the final numeric portion can be a useful input.
The form does not show a Chancery checkbox. Probate, estate, adoption, guardianship, conservatorship, divorce, parenting, support, partition, and many equity matters should be routed to the Clerk and Master rather than treated as missing Circuit cases.
The portal caps a broad result set at 2,500 rows. Add the original filing year or known number when a common name creates too many matches. The filter shown after a search reads visible text and is not the same as the initial flexible query. When the screen remains blank, confirm spelling, court choice, case type, and year before calling the clerk. A no-hit does not prove that a Henry County civil record never existed.
- Identify Circuit, General Sessions, or Chancery from the filing or notice.
- For Circuit or General Sessions, select that court and Civil in TnCIS.
- Enter a full name, case year, or case number.
- Complete the anti-bot check and compare the court, year, and parties.
- Ask the correct clerk for pleadings, judgments, or certified copies.
- If results are broad, add the original filing year or known case number.
Henry County Civil Court Routes
The office split is the most important local detail. Mike Wilson, the Circuit Court Clerk, serves Circuit, General Sessions, and Juvenile clerk functions. Albert Wade, the Clerk and Master, serves Chancery Court. General Sessions provides a limited civil and small-claims path.
| Court | Typical civil work | Start here |
|---|---|---|
| Circuit | Tort, contract, real estate, general civil | TnCIS or Circuit clerk |
| General Sessions | Small claims and limited civil | TnCIS or Circuit clerk |
| Chancery | Probate, estates, domestic relations, equity | Clerk and Master |
The County Clerk is separate and handles such transactions as vehicle titles, marriage licenses, and business tax. Trial-court pleadings and judgments do not belong there merely because they are county records.
Civil Dockets: What They Show
A Henry County civil docket is a dated index of activity in one suit or petition. It identifies the court, case, parties, filings, settings, and outcome. TnCIS training shows tabs for General, Filings, Attorneys, Fees, and Additional Parties. A public index does not promise that each underlying document image can be downloaded.
| Case Number | The court identifier used for a file request. |
|---|---|
| Parties | Plaintiff and defendant, or petitioner and respondent. |
| Filings | Complaint, petition, answer, notices, and exhibits. |
| Motions | Requests made to the court and later rulings. |
| Judgment | Final order, dismissal, settlement entry, or other result. |
Henry County TnCIS Detail Tabs
The Tennessee court structure gives context for the courts represented in the public system.

In a matching Henry County case, General is the identity check. Filings provide the event sequence. Attorneys identify counsel, Fees may show assessed items, and Additional Parties can clarify a multi-party action. Read the whole sequence. A motion is a request, while an order states what the court decided. For exact language, obtain the filed paper from the clerk.
Note: TnCIS information can change and is not an official certified record.
Henry County Civil Docket Cases
Henry County Circuit civil work includes contract and debt disputes, damages and tort claims, real-estate matters, administrative appeals, and other general cases. General Sessions hears small claims and other limited matters. Chancery has a distinct and locally important mix.
- Probate, trusts, wills, and estate administration
- Divorce, parenting, support, and domestic relations
- Adoptions, guardianships, and conservatorships
- Property disputes, partitions, tax sales, and equity claims
- Orders of protection and name changes where jurisdiction applies
Sensitive family, estate, adoption, and protection cases may contain redacted or restricted papers. A public case reference does not open each item in the file.
Henry County Chancery Workload
The FY2025 AOC report lists 450 Henry County Chancery filings and 473 dispositions. Probate and trust accounted for 154 filings, while residential parenting and child support accounted for 85. The report also lists 64 Circuit civil filings and 64 dispositions.
These are office-reported event counts, not counts of people or successful claims. Dispositions can involve cases begun in an earlier period. The volume shows why a search that omits Chancery can miss much of Henry County's civil work.
Henry County Civil Docket Hearings
A setting gives a date, time, court, and event type. It may be a motion hearing, status conference, review, or trial. Henry County does not publish a verified standalone calendar feed in the research set. Check the docket, then confirm a near-term event through the Henry County court schedule route and the office that keeps the case.
A continuance postpones an event. A reset supplies another date. Neither means the claim was dismissed. If a notice and portal conflict, use the latest signed order or clerk confirmation. Circuit and General Sessions questions go to Mike Wilson's office at 731-642-0461. The AOC lists Albert Wade's Chancery office at 731-642-2310, while the county lists 731-642-4234.
Henry County Civil Copy Choices
A docket index, a filed document, and a certified copy serve different needs. The index locates the case. A plain copy reproduces a pleading, order, or judgment. Certification adds the clerk's official attestation. State fee references list 50 cents per page and $5 certification, but no current local schedule was found for every office. Confirm price and payment before ordering.
The official Tennessee Self-Help Center provides forms and process information.

That resource helps separate legal-information routes from the clerk's narrower role in locating and copying an existing record. A mailed request should name the court, case type, year, number, document, and whether certification is needed.
Who Can See Civil Dockets
Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 34 begins with public access and recognizes exceptions created by law, rule, court order, sealing, or confidentiality. Juvenile matters receive special limits. Family, adoption, protection, probate, and estate cases may contain restricted papers even when a basic index is public.
The Rule 46A electronic filing framework concerns adopted court systems and service procedures.

No Henry-specific public e-filing onboarding page was found. TnCIS is an inquiry tool, not proof that every pleading can be filed or downloaded online.
Access rule: A public docket entry may coexist with a sealed, redacted, or clerk-only document. The clerk applies Rule 34 and any case-specific order.
Henry County Historical Civil Files
The present courthouse includes the historic 1896 bell-tower structure, and older clerk material refers to minutes and ledgers as well as modern docket systems. An old civil matter may therefore require an archive question instead of another web query. Ask which office has the year and court series, whether an index exists, and where the original volume or file is stored.
A digital no-hit does not show that an older judgment, probate instrument, or minute entry never existed. Give the clerk a date range, names as they appeared at the time, the likely court, and any book, page, or case reference. The research did not locate a Henry County digitization or microfilm index, so current archive location and copy handling must be confirmed directly.
